About the Role:
We are hiring a Senior Technical Recruiter to own full-lifecycle hiring for Fetch’s AI, Data, and Engineering organizations. This role is not about running side projects or maintaining processes for process’s sake. It is about placing the most business-critical technical talent in the company.
You will operate as a strategic hiring partner to senior engineering and data leaders, responsible for filling high-impact, high-bar roles that directly influence Fetch’s product velocity, platform scale, and AI roadmap. The scope spans Machine Learning, Data Science, Data Engineering, Platform, Mobile, and Backend Engineering, and beyond.
This is a seat for a recruiter who wants to influence org design through hiring and be trusted with roles where “getting it wrong” is not an option. You will own roles end-to-end, advise leaders on talent tradeoffs, and bring clarity to ambiguous hiring problems.
This is a Full-Time Contractor (FTC) position role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.
Role Responsibilities:
- Own full-lifecycle recruiting for Fetch’s AI, Data, and Engineering organizations, with accountability for quality, speed, and long-term impact.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior engineering, data, and product leaders on talent strategy, role definition, leveling, and hiring tradeoffs
- Influence hiring decisions through strong market insight, calibrated assessment, and clear recommendations.
- Drive rigorous candidate assessment, ensuring a consistently high bar across assigned roles
- Identify true signal in ambiguous profiles and emerging skill sets, bringing clarity to complex hiring decisions
- Translate business priorities and org design into proactive hiring plans, not reactive req-filling
- Partner with leaders to anticipate future skill gaps and succession needs within technical teams
- Deliver a thoughtful, high-touch candidate experience that reflects Fetch’s values and technical ambition
- Serve as a brand ambassador for Fetch’s AI and engineering culture in the market
- Bring deep awareness of talent market dynamics, compensation trends, and competitive landscapes to inform hiring strategy and decision-making
- Continuously evolve sourcing approaches to reach top-tier, hard-to-access technical talent
Minimum Requirements:
- 6+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience supporting complex, high-impact roles in Engineering, AI, or Data organizations
- Proven success hiring senior ICs and leaders in fast-scaling, product-driven tech companies
- Strong understanding of modern engineering, data, and machine learning roles, including how skills translate to on-the-job impact
- Ability to credibly partner with technical leaders and assess candidates beyond keyword matching
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a hiring strategist, not just an executor
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing without authority, and making judgment calls with incomplete information
- Track record of building deep trust with senior leaders and guiding them through complex hiring decisions
- Confident communicator who can challenge assumptions while maintaining strong relationships
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple high-priority searches simultaneously without sacrificing quality
- Proficiency with ATS and recruiting tools (Gem experience strongly preferred)
- High ownership, strong instincts, and a bias toward action
- Thrives in environments where expectations are high, and the work materially matters
