It’s not just our users who believe in Fetch: with investments from Softbank, ICONIQ, DST, Greycroft, and partnerships ranging from challenger brands to Fortune 500 companies, Fetch is reshaping how brands and consumers connect in the marketplace. When you work at Fetch, you play a vital role in a platform that drives brand loyalty and creates lifelong consumers with the power of Fetch points. User and partner success are at the heart of everything we do, and we extend that same commitment to our employees.
At Fetch, we value curiosity, adaptability, and the confidence to explore new tools, especially AI, to drive smarter, faster work. We encourage our employees to challenge ideas, think bigger, and always bring the fun to Fetch.

Meet Fetch Platform Engineering

At Fetch, platform engineering is grounded in service to platforms, ownership, agility, and purposeful innovation. Our engineers thrive in complexity, navigating ambiguity with curiosity, data, and critical thinking. We foster a culture where high technical standards, practical decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration drive tangible impact.
You'll join a team of builders working on developer-facing systems that help engineers ship faster, safer, and with less friction. We operate with the mindset that our customers are other engineers. That means we care deeply about adoption, documentation, feedback loops, training, reliability, and building tools people actually want to use.
About the role
We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer II for UI Foundations, the platform team that improves the cross-surface building blocks connecting backend services to web and mobile clients. This role will focus on fullstack platform tooling, dashboard generation, templating, and deployments, shared application patterns, auth modernization, testing capabilities, and AI-native developer workflows.
This is not a traditional product-feature engineering role. You'll help shape the internal developer platform that Fetch engineers use to build dashboards, integrate with backend services, generate TypeScript clients from service contracts, and ship maintainable internal tools with confidence.
You'll work closely with frontend, backend, mobile, platform, security, and engineering leadership to improve how teams build and operate fullstack systems at scale. The right person is excited by ambiguous platform problems, understands that developer experience is a product, and can take an idea from discovery through implementation, documentation, rollout, and adoption.
Our current platform work includes dashboard generation, templating, and deployments; SvelteKit/Svelte 5; TypeScript; Okta OIDC; SST/AWS deployment patterns; GitHub Actions; Playwright; Vitest; service contract integrations; generated TypeScript clients; dashboard templates; and AI skills published through Fetch Skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Help harden and evolve dashboard templates, scaffolding, tooling, deployment patterns, and shared configurations.
  • Improve application security patterns, including Okta auth modernization, shared client ID remediation, and dashboard access-control patterns.
  • Expand contract-driven development through service clients, dashboard templating, and code generation from OpenAPI/protobuf contracts.
  • Support and improve existing internal dashboards across Fetch platform as standards mature.
  • Build and maintain dashboard and service-integration golden paths that reduce friction for both human engineers and AI agents working in platform codebases.
  • Partner with backend teams to ensure platform tooling depends on clear, reliable service contracts instead of one-off integrations.
  • Help define and roll out integration testing patterns for internal dashboards, including CLI support, skills, CI/CD checks, and testing guidance.
  • Create documentation, office hours, trainings, lunch-and-learns, and other enablement materials that help engineers adopt platform tools successfully.
  • Survey and partner with internal dashboard users to understand pain points, adoption gaps, and opportunities to improve the developer workflow.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted workflows that improve fullstack development, testing, maintainability, and developer feedback loops.
  • Work across frontend, backend, mobile, security, and platform teams to align standards and improve the broader SDLC.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on fullstack engineering experience in a medium to large engineering environment.
  • Strong experience with TypeScript and modern application architecture.
  • Hands-on work with SvelteKit, Svelte, or comparable modern frameworks, with the ability to understand framework strengths, limitations, and security considerations.
  • Background building or maintaining internal tools, platform tooling, dashboards, shared systems, or developer-facing workflows.
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns with backend services, APIs, generated clients, or service contracts.
  • Hands-on work with testing tools such as Playwright, Vitest, or comparable frameworks.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems, especially GitHub Actions or similar tooling.
  • Ability to reason across application architecture, auth, deployment, testing, contracts, and maintainability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document systems clearly and enable other engineers through training or support.
  • High degree of ownership and agency. Comfortable navigating ambiguity, identifying gaps, proposing solutions, and driving work through adoption.
  • AI-forward mindset with interest in using AI tools and agentic workflows to improve engineering speed, quality, and maintainability.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Production-level familiarity with Svelte 5 and SvelteKit.
  • Working knowledge of Okta OIDC, auth modernization, access-control patterns, or application security improvements.
  • Exposure to SST, AWS, or modern deployment architecture.
  • Strong understanding of contract-driven development, including OpenAPI, protobuf, code generation, SDK design, or generated TypeScript clients.
  • Ability to build CLI tooling, scaffolding, templates, or shared developer workflows.
  • Comfort shaping AI skills, prompts, or workflows for internal developer platforms.
  • Track record of driving platform adoption through documentation, office hours, training, or developer enablement.
  • Comfort working closely with backend, mobile, security, or platform teams.
