Meet Fetch Engineering
At Fetch, engineering is driven by curiosity, ownership, and a bias toward action. We operate in complex problem spaces where the right answer is not always clear, and success depends on adaptability, critical thinking, and informed decision-making. Our engineers are comfortable navigating ambiguity, understanding tradeoffs, gathering context, and turning uncertainty into progress while maintaining high technical standards.
Engineers at Fetch take pride in building reliable, scalable systems that serve millions of users. You will contribute directly to the codebase, collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, and help shape best practices that elevate the quality of our work. We foster a culture of mentorship and collaboration, where engineers grow by learning from one another and holding a high bar for quality, reliability, and impact.
About the Role:
Fetch is building the industry's leading consumer tech platforms, and we need an executive-level operator to partner directly with our CTO and CPO.
Sitting at the intersection of technology strategy, product strategy, portfolio governance, and executive execution, you will proactively resolve cross-functional friction and drive tight alignment across Platform Foundations, AI/ML, Growth, Ads & Monetization, and Product Engineering. We are looking for an individual who can turn high-level product and technology strategy into fast, predictable execution across the organization.
This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Fetch (Role Responsibilities):
Portfolio Governance & Strategic Planning
- Drive Product & Tech Planning: Partner with the CTO, CPO, StratOps, Finance, People Experience, and Product & Technology leaders to drive leadership inputs, resource allocation, and opex decisions through annual and quarterly planning.
- Own the CPO/CTO Executive Cadence: Run the leadership rhythms specific to the Offices of the CPO and CTO, including leadership team cadences, executive reviews, Product & Tech All-Hands, and follow-through on executive decisions and commitments.
- Maintain Top-Down Visibility: Maintain a clear executive view of portfolio health, product outcomes, deliverable milestones, ROI, risks, and decisions requiring CPO/CTO attention across Platform Foundations, AI/ML, Growth, Ads & Monetization, and Product Engineering.
- Balance Tech Debt & Innovation: Establish clear frameworks to evaluate trade-offs between core platform investments, maintenance, and long-term strategic bets.
Proactive Leverage & Strategic Execution
- Expand Executive Reach: Act as the primary point of contact to intercept issues and keep CTO and CPO priorities moving forward.
- Drive Key Strategic Initiatives: Lead critical cross-functional Product and Technology initiatives from initial framing through execution, ensuring clear accountability across participating teams.
- Enforce Accountability: Establish delegation frameworks across Product and Technology leaders, track executive commitments and decisions, and ensure issues are resolved or escalated quickly.
Decision Velocity & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Frame High-Stakes Decisions: Synthesize complex product, technical, and business decisions into clear recommendations to accelerate executive decision-making.
- Accelerate Cross-Functional Execution: Partner across Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and People to resolve cross-functional blockers, align stakeholders, and accelerate execution of major initiatives.
- Proxy for the CTO and CPO: Represent the Product and Technology organizations in planning, board preparation, executive reviews, and strategic forums with both technical and product credibility.
AI Strategy & Technical Productivity
- Operationalize AI Tooling: Work with Product, AI/ML, and Platform leaders to evaluate and embed modern AI tools across the product development lifecycle to improve team velocity and product delivery.
- Evolve How We Build: Shape operating models, execution cadences, and cross-functional collaboration across Product and Engineering to reflect modern, AI-first product development.
What you'll bring:
You are a seasoned Product & Technology operator who creates clarity amidst ambiguity and translates high-level strategy into high-velocity execution. You understand how modern product and engineering organizations operate, bring deep technical and product context, and can build systems that scale the impact of both the CTO and CPO.
You also bring:
- Proven Senior Leadership: 12+ years of experience across technology strategy, BizOps, product/technology leadership, or management consulting in high-growth tech scale-ups.
- Technical & Product Fluency: Deep domain familiarity across software engineering, AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, and platform architecture, allowing you to engage credibly with VPs, Principal Engineers, and Product leaders on complex investment trade-offs.
- Executive Leverage & Proactive Ownership: A track record of acting as a force multiplier for executive leaders, anticipating risks early and structuring accountability frameworks across Product and Technology leadership teams.
- Portfolio & Strategic Governance: Demonstrated success designing portfolio reviews, capital/resource allocation models, and operating cadences that connect technology investments directly to business KPIs.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, with the proven ability to align diverse stakeholders (Product, Finance, Legal, People) and drive execution without relying on formal authority.
What success looks like:
Success in this role is measured by the leverage you create for the CTO and CPO and the organizational velocity of the Technology and Product teams. Key indicators of success include:
- Maximized Executive Focus: The CTO and CPO focus almost entirely on long-term technology strategy, product strategy, customer outcomes, innovation, and executive leadership while you remove operational friction, drive cross-functional alignment, and ensure disciplined execution across Product & Technology.
- Accelerated Decision Velocity: Major architectural, trade-off, and resource decisions move cleanly through the pipeline because options, trade-offs, and recommendations are pre-framed before reaching leadership.
- Full Tech Portfolio Visibility: Technology investments across Platform Foundations, AI/ML, Growth, Ads & Monetization, and Product Engineering are clearly mapped to business outcomes, budget tracking, and delivery timelines with no surprise gaps.
- Proactive Risk Neutralization: Cross-team dependencies, resource bottlenecks, and delivery risks are identified and resolved at the leadership level long before impacting release cadences or requiring executive intervention.
- Measurable AI Productivity: Technology teams actively adopt AI development toolchains, driving continuous, observable improvements in developer throughput, code quality, and delivery speed.
