About Shoplift

Ecommerce brands are under constant pressure to grow revenue while advertising costs climb and competition intensifies. Yet most merchants are flying blind—making decisions about product pages, merchandising, pricing, and offers without ever testing what actually drives conversions. The difference between guessing and knowing can be 15-30% in revenue, but A/B testing has historically been too expensive, too complex, or too slow for most brands.

Shoplift changes that. We're the fastest, easiest A/B testing platform built specifically for Shopify merchants. We help brands discover what actually converts—should luxury skincare shoppers see lifestyle photos or close-up texture shots? Does a supplement brand's product page convert better with per-serving or per-bottle pricing? These decisions matter, and we make it simple to find the answers through visual editors, AI-powered recommendations, and expert guidance.

We're scaling rapidly with 2,000+ brands trusting us to optimize their stores, from fast-growing DTC brands to Shopify Plus merchants. What sets us apart isn't just our product—it's our world-class partnerships team (deeply embedded with the Shopify ecosystem) and our customer success organization that ensures brands actually get value from testing, not just another tool they install and forget.

As we accelerate growth, we're expanding our already-strong revenue organization. You'll have direct impact on our trajectory, real ownership over your area, and the chance to refine how we execute at scale. This isn't about reinventing strategy—it's about excellent execution with a team that's proven it knows how to win.

We're a team of builders who value speed, directness, and getting shit done. We move fast, iterate constantly, and aren't afraid to change course when something isn't working. If you thrive in high-autonomy environments where your work directly moves revenue, you'll love it here.

The Role

As an Account Executive at Shoplift, you'll be the trusted advisor helping ecommerce brands unlock revenue they're currently leaving on the table. This isn't transactional sales—you'll develop deep expertise in conversion rate optimization, build long-term relationships with brand leaders, and genuinely solve problems that move the needle on their business.

You'll own the full sales cycle: from first conversation through close, and then partner closely with our Customer Success team to ensure your customers actually win. Your success is measured not just by deals closed, but by the revenue impact you help brands achieve.

Why this role matters: You're not just selling software—you're introducing brands to a fundamentally different way of making decisions. When done right, A/B testing becomes part of how they operate, and you'll have played a critical role in that transformation. We've seen brands increase revenue by 15-30% through systematic testing, and you'll be the person who makes that happen.

What You'll Do

Own Your Pipeline (40% of time)

  • Manage a healthy pipeline of active opportunities across inbound leads, partner referrals, and strategic outbound
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand brand goals, challenges, and technical setup
  • Build business cases that connect Shoplift's capabilities to specific revenue outcomes
  • Run compelling demos that show (not tell) how testing drives growth
  • Navigate deals with multiple stakeholders: marketing, ops, finance, C-suite

Close Strategic Deals (40% of time)

  • Drive new ARR through a mix of SMB and mid-market ecommerce brands
  • Negotiate contracts with a focus on annual agreements (we optimize for customer success, not quick wins)
  • Package deals with services (testing roadmaps, site audits) to ensure customers get immediate value
  • Work closely with partnerships team on co-sell opportunities with agencies and tech partners
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline hygiene in HubSpot

Set Customers Up for Success (20% of time)

  • Collaborate with Customer Success on smooth handoffs (you own retention on accounts you close)
  • Identify expansion opportunities as brands grow and testing matures
  • Proactively manage renewals well in advance (you own the relationship long-term)
  • Surface product feedback from customer conversations to inform roadmap

What success looks like:

  • Month 1-3: Ramping—you're closing your first deals, learning the product deeply, shadowing customer calls
  • Month 4-6: Productive—you're hitting quota consistently, building a healthy pipeline, refining your pitch
  • Month 6-12: Crushing it—you're exceeding quota, expanding deals, mentoring newer reps

You're a Great Fit If...

Must-haves:

  • 3-5 years in B2B SaaS sales with a track record of hitting/exceeding quota
  • Consultative selling approach - you listen more than you talk, and you tailor your pitch to what the customer actually needs
  • Ecommerce fluency - you understand how online stores work, what metrics matter (AOV, conversion rate, ROAS), and how brands think about growth
  • Ownership mindset - you manage your own book, forecast accurately, and don't need hand-holding
  • Collaborative DNA - you partner well with Customer Success, Partnerships, and Product teams to get deals done right

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience selling to Shopify merchants or ecommerce brands
  • Background in CRO, marketing, or ecommerce operations (you've been on the buyer side)
  • Familiarity with agency partnerships or channel sales
  • Track record selling deals with 30-90 day sales cycles

You'll struggle here if:

  • You expect 100% of pipeline to land in your lap and aren't comfortable sourcing opportunities for yourself
  • You prioritize short-term commissions over long-term customer success
  • You avoid conflict or difficult conversations (we're direct and expect the same)

What Makes This Different

1. You Spend Time Closing, Not Just Prospecting Most AEs spend 50%+ of their time hunting for leads. You'll spend no more than 25%. We have strong inbound demand, a thriving partner ecosystem, and SDR support. Your primary job is to close and ensure customer success.

2. You Own Renewals & Expansion We don't hand customers off and forget about them. You're incentivized to sell deals that stick and grow. This means you'll think long-term, not just chase quick closes.

3. Partner Deals Are as Valuable as Any Other We don't split commissions. Partner-sourced deals pay you full rate, and our Partnerships team feeds you warm, qualified leads from agencies and tech partners you'll actually want to work with.

4. You'll Actually Learn CRO You're not selling generic SaaS. You'll develop deep expertise in conversion optimization, testing methodology, and ecommerce growth. This is a career-building skill set.

5. You're Part of the Early Sales Team You'll have opportunities to grow into a standout individual contributor or join the management track as we scale. Your voice matters in shaping how we sell.
