About Shoplift

Ecommerce brands are under constant pressure to grow revenue while advertising costs climb and competition intensifies. Yet most merchants are flying blind—making decisions about product pages, merchandising, pricing, and offers without ever testing what actually drives conversions. The difference between guessing and knowing can be 15-30% in revenue, but A/B testing has historically been too expensive, too complex, or too slow for most brands.

Shoplift changes that. We're the fastest, easiest A/B testing platform built specifically for Shopify merchants. We help brands discover what actually converts—should luxury skincare shoppers see lifestyle photos or close-up texture shots? Does a supplement brand's product page convert better with per-serving or per-bottle pricing? These decisions matter, and we make it simple to find the answers through visual editors, AI-powered recommendations, and expert guidance.

We're scaling rapidly with 2,000+ brands trusting us to optimize their stores, from fast-growing DTC brands to Shopify Plus merchants. What sets us apart isn't just our product—it's our world-class partnerships team (deeply embedded with the Shopify ecosystem) and our customer success organization that ensures brands actually get value from testing, not just another tool they install and forget.

As we accelerate growth, we're expanding our already-strong revenue organization. You'll have direct impact on our trajectory, real ownership over your area, and the chance to refine how we execute at scale. This isn't about reinventing strategy—it's about excellent execution with a team that's proven it knows how to win.

We're a team of builders who value speed, directness, and getting shit done. We move fast, iterate constantly, and aren't afraid to change course when something isn't working. If you thrive in high-autonomy environments where your work directly moves revenue, you'll love it here.

The Role

As a Senior Account Executive at Shoplift, you'll own our most strategic opportunities—the world's biggest Shopify brands. You'll bring 5+ years of proven closing ability, deep ecommerce expertise, and the leadership presence to influence not just customers, but how our sales team operates.

This isn't just "AE with bigger quota." You'll be a player-coach: closing your own deals while also mentoring newer reps, refining our sales playbook, and representing Shoplift in complex, multi-threaded engagements. Your voice matters in shaping how we sell, and you'll have direct access to leadership to make that happen.

Why this role matters: Storefront optimization is no longer a "nice-to-have"—it's becoming table stakes for ecommerce success. More brands are waking up to the reality that every element of their site impacts revenue, and Shopify themselves is investing heavily in legitimizing experimentation and optimization as a critical category. You'll ride this wave, working with the most sophisticated merchants who understand that testing isn't optional—it's how winners operate.

What You'll Do

Close Complex, High-Value Deals (50% of time)

  • Manage a pipeline of strategic opportunities with the largest Shopify brands
  • Navigate multi-threaded sales cycles with marketing, ecommerce ops, IT, agencies, and C-suite stakeholders
  • Build business cases for ROI-focused buyers who need executive buy-in and cross-functional alignment
  • Negotiate multi-year contracts and custom pricing structures
  • Orchestrate deals where tech partners (platforms, CDPs, analytics tools) and agency partners (implementers, strategists) are actively involved in the buying process

Own Strategic Accounts (25% of time)

  • Manage relationships with Shopify Plus brands and larger mid-market merchants
  • Drive expansion in existing accounts (upsells, plan upgrades, additional traffic allowances)
  • Conduct executive-level QBRs that tie Shoplift's impact to business outcomes
  • Surface strategic insights from customer conversations to inform product roadmap

Elevate the Sales Team (25% of time)

  • Mentor newer AEs (shadow calls, provide feedback, share best practices)
  • Contribute to sales playbook and training materials
  • Test new messaging, objection handling, and demo approaches
  • Represent sales perspective in cross-functional discussions (product, marketing, partnerships)

What success looks like:

  • Month 1-3: You're closing deals at your previous pace while learning our product/market deeply
  • Month 4-6: You're exceeding quota and actively coaching other reps
  • Month 6-12: You're our top closer, influencing how we sell, and potentially stepping into team leadership

You're a Great Fit If...

Must-haves:

  • 5+ years in B2B SaaS sales with consistent track record of top 5% performance (you're a ringer, not just a solid performer)
  • Experience with complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving C-level buyers, technical evaluators, and agency/partner ecosystems
  • Deep ecommerce knowledge - you've sold to ecommerce brands before OR you've worked in ecommerce and understand the ecosystem
  • Leadership presence - customers, partners, and team members naturally look to you for guidance
  • Consultative mastery - you can run a discovery call that uncovers problems the customer didn't know they had
  • Coaching ability - you enjoy helping others get better and can give direct, actionable feedback
  • Travel flexibility - approximately 10% travel for customer meetings, conferences, and team events

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience closing Shopify Plus brands or high-GMV merchants
  • Background selling CRO, personalization, or marketing tools
  • Relationships with ecommerce agencies or ecosystem partners
  • Track record of mentoring or managing junior reps

You'll struggle here if:

  • You're a lone wolf who doesn't want to collaborate or coach others
  • You rely heavily on scripts and can't adapt to complex buyers
  • You're looking for a "set it and forget it" closing job without strategic input

What Makes This Different

1. You'll Shape How We Sell This isn't a "just hit your number" role. You'll have influence over our sales process, messaging, and go-to-market strategy. Your ideas matter, and you'll work directly with leadership to implement them.

2. Work with the Biggest Brands in Ecommerce You'll close deals with brands like Skullcandy, Our Place, Casper, KITH, and Liquid Death—the merchants pushing the boundaries of what's possible in ecommerce. These are sophisticated buyers who understand testing and want a true partner.

3. Leadership Opportunities As we scale our sales organization, top performers who can close AND coach will have clear paths into leadership roles. You're building your career, not just taking a job.

4. True Partnership We're obsessed with customer success. You'll work closely with our world-class CS team, our embedded partnerships organization, and product to ensure your deals don't just close—they succeed long-term.
