About Shoplift

Shoplift is the first CRO command center for Shopify brands. Shoplift helps thousands of brands like like Cole Haan, Kith, and Skullcandy generate millions of dollars of incremental revenue with its suite of intelligent, automated monitoring, experimentation, and personalization. We exist so that ecommerce brands stop guessing and start knowing.

The Opportunity

We're hiring an Account Executive to own new business for Shoplift's mid-market segment — the fast-growing Shopify and Shopify Plus brands that don't have dedicated CRO headcount yet but are ready to build a testing program. You'll run the full sales cycle solo, from a qualified conversation through demo, negotiation, and close, and you'll carry your own quota against a defined book of SMB-to-mid-market accounts.

This is a full-cycle, quota-carrying seat on a small, senior sales team — not a set-appointments-and-hand-off role. You own the deal, the relationship, and the number.

What You'll Own

Full sales cycle ownership: run discovery, qualification, demo, negotiation, and close on every deal in your pipeline, from first qualified conversation to signature.

A dedicated book of business: manage and grow a territory of SMB-to-mid-market Shopify and Shopify Plus brands, primarily in Apparel & Fashion, Consumer Goods, and Food & Beverage.

Quota attainment: carry and consistently hit a monthly/quarterly new-business quota, with full visibility into your number and how you're tracking against it.

Consultative, fast-cycle selling: most deals move from first call to decision in weeks, not quarters — you'll need to establish real fit, urgency, and an economic buyer quickly without cutting corners on qualification.

Pilot and structure-led negotiation: scope and run structured pilots with clear success criteria, and negotiate on payment terms and contract structure before ever leading with discount.

Active engagement through the deal, not just to signature: stay engaged through pilot periods and early onboarding, checking in on setup and surfacing signal so nothing you close falls through the cracks at handoff.

Accurate pipeline and forecasting: keep HubSpot current and honest — CRM stage should always match what was actually said on the last call.

Cross-functional collaboration: partner with BDRs on inbound/outbound pipeline, and hand off cleanly to Customer Success post-close.

What You Bring

Selling SMB is a different sport than enterprise, not a smaller version of it. This seat is built for someone who wants that motion:

High deal velocity: you'll carry more deals in flight at once, each moving faster and smaller than an enterprise cycle — this role rewards running a lot of parallel motion, not going deep on a handful of whales.

Founder- or single-threaded selling: your economic buyer is often a founder or a single growth/marketing lead, not a multi-stakeholder committee — you'll close on speed and clarity rather than a long, multi-thread enterprise process.

Ruthless, fast qualification: with more deals and less time per deal, you need a sharp instinct for disqualifying a bad fit in one call instead of nursing it for weeks.

Self-sourced pipeline muscle: you'll supplement BDR-sourced pipeline with your own outbound and expansion motion inside your book — this isn't a set-appointments-and-show-up seat.

Resilience across higher volume: SMB win rates and deal sizes behave differently than enterprise — you need to stay efficient and even-keeled across a higher number of reps at bat.

2+ years of full-cycle, quota-carrying Account Executive experience, ideally in SaaS, with a track record of consistently hitting or exceeding quota.

Shopify ecosystem experience strongly preferred — you've sold to, worked at, or worked closely with Shopify or Shopify Plus merchants (e.g., at a Shopify app, agency, or another ecommerce SaaS company) and you understand how DTC brands actually operate.

Comfort owning the full cycle solo: you don't need a dedicated SDR to build your pipeline or a sales engineer to run your demo — you can do both yourself when needed.

A consultative sales style: you lead with discovery and real problem-solving, not a script, and you're comfortable telling a prospect they're not a fit when that's the honest answer.

Fluency with a modern sales stack: HubSpot (or comparable CRM), Gong or a similar call-recording tool, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Apollo or equivalent.

Strong written and verbal communication, including comfort running executive-level conversations and defending a business case in dollars, not just features.

Self-direction in a remote, async-first environment: you communicate proactively, keep your pipeline and calendar organized across time zones, and don't need in-person oversight to stay accountable to your number.

Nice to Have

• Experience selling CRO, A/B testing, personalization, or another ecommerce-optimization product.

• Familiarity with Shopify Plus, Klaviyo, Gorgias, or other tools common in the Shopify tech stack.

• Experience running structured pilots or proof-of-concept sales motions.

• A track record of managing a full territory or book of business, not just working assigned inbound leads.

Scope of This Role Individual contributor, no direct reports: this seat doesn't include mentoring or supervising other AEs or BDRs.

SMB and growth-stage accounts only: your book is scoped to SMB and mid-market brands. Flagship Shopify Plus and enterprise accounts stay with our Senior AE team.

  • Standard playbook pricing: you'll sell and negotiate within Shoplift's standard SMB pricing and deal structure, not custom enterprise contract terms.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary in the $80,000–$100,000 range plus uncapped commission, for an OTE of $160,000–$200,000 depending on experience. In addition:

• Medical, dental, and vision coverage,

• 22 days of PTO annually, plus 10 paid holidays.

• $200 one-time home office stipend for your first 6 months.

• Fully remote, async-first culture — we default to Slack over meetings and work cleanly across time zones.

• A seat on a small, senior sales team with direct access to leadership, real coaching (Gong call reviews, structured 1:1s), and a documented sales playbook built from our own pipeline data, not generic theory.

How We Work

Shoplift runs on six core values: We're Obsessed with Helping Brands Win, Join the 99 Club, Play Like a Team, Speak Up, Have F*cking Fun With It, and Make Your Own Luck. On this team specifically, that means evidence over opinion, speed to insight, and owning your outcome — pipeline and quota attainment are yours to drive
