About Shoplift
Ecommerce brands are under constant pressure to grow revenue while advertising costs climb and competition intensifies. Yet most merchants are flying blind — making decisions about product pages, merchandising, pricing, and offers without ever testing what actually drives conversions. The difference between guessing and knowing can be 15–30% in revenue, but A/B testing has historically been too expensive, too complex, or too slow for most brands.
Shoplift changes that. We're the fastest, easiest A/B testing platform built specifically for Shopify merchants, with 2,000+ brands trusting us to optimize their stores — from fast-growing DTC brands to Shopify Plus merchants. We work with beloved brands like Skullcandy, Our Place, Casper, KITH, and Liquid Death, and we're one of fewer than 80 Shopify Certified Technology Partners — handpicked by Shopify themselves, and the only A/B testing app to earn that distinction.
We're obsessed with our customers winning, and we see ourselves as stewards of the broader ecommerce ecosystem — not just a vendor.
We're a small team of builders who value speed, directness, and getting shit done. We move fast, iterate constantly, and aren't afraid to change course when something isn't working. If you thrive in high-autonomy environments where your work directly moves revenue, you'll love it here.
The Role
As Senior Marketing Designer, you'll be the visual voice of our brand in market. You'll create the lead magnets, ad systems, product marketing materials, and landing page designs that help prospects understand why Shoplift matters — not through words, but through visuals that show rather than tell.
This isn't traditional marketing design work. You're not making generic social graphics or simple banner ads. You're creating sophisticated B2B SaaS marketing assets that need to match the quality bar set by our product design while serving a marketing purpose. Your work needs to stop the scroll, communicate value instantly, and convert.
Here's what makes it unique. We're a B2B SaaS company that doesn't take itself too seriously — our tagline is A/B Testing Doesn't Have to be a Pain in the SaaS. Our brand is bold, witty, and unapologetically different, and that's one of our competitive advantages. But there's nuance: we're daring without being whimsical, distinctive without being disorganized, confident without being loud. We need a designer who grasps that balance.
And here's the creative challenge. We're marketing to marketers. Our customers are some of the best B2C marketers in the world — the people running growth at KITH, Liquid Death, and Casper. They recognize great brand work instantly, because it's what they do every day. If you're inspired by "brand recognizes brand" and want to make marketing design that makes sophisticated marketers stop and take notice, this is your opportunity.
You'll work closely with our Demand Generation org to understand what campaigns need, what's converting, and what to build next. You'll also collaborate with Product, Partnerships, and Customer Success to surface the stories and data that make our marketing resonate.
This is a range role, not a specialty role
You are the marketing design function. In a given week you might build a paid social system, a 40-page ebook, a feature landing page, a motion loop, an email header, and a partner one-pager — and there's nobody to hand the unglamorous parts to.
That means we care more about range across disciplines than a single deep specialty. Brand, campaign, web, motion, presentation, systems, and production all show up in the job. You won't be equally strong in all of them, and we don't expect that. We do expect you to know exactly where you're weakest and to have a real strategy for covering it.
How you'll work: AI as production infrastructure
This is not a bonus point. It's core to how this role operates.
We expect you to use AI to move faster and raise your ceiling — to explore more directions before committing, to kill the tedious parts of production, and to ship volume that a designer working manually simply can't match. What we're looking for isn't enthusiasm about tools. It's evidence that you've built systems you reuse: skills, template and batch pipelines, generation workflows tuned to a specific brand, whatever your version of that looks like.
Just as important: we want someone with the judgment to know where AI makes work worse, and the conviction to not use it there. Taste doesn't get outsourced to a model. If your AI answer is a list of tool names, this isn't the right role for you.
You'll have real latitude to invent this. Nobody here is going to hand you a workflow.
What You'll Do
Marketing creative & campaign assets
- Design static ad systems for Meta, LinkedIn, and other paid channels that stop marketers mid-scroll
- Create lead magnets — ebooks, guides, one-pagers — that look premium and convert
- Build comparison visuals (before/after, with Shoplift vs. without) that make value instantly clear
- Design testimonial formats and social proof assets that work across channels
- Build templated creative systems others can adapt without breaking brand consistency
Brand & sales materials
- Create feature landing page designs that follow our show-don't-tell philosophy
- Build sales collateral, one-pagers, and partnership marketing materials
- Design email headers, presentation templates, and recurring brand assets
- Extend and evolve Shoplift's visual identity as we scale
Product marketing visualization
- Design materials that highlight the excellence of the app itself
- Create motion graphics and dynamic visuals for web
- Build and maintain a library of reusable marketing assets
You'll contribute immediately — shipping assets from week one while learning the product, our customers, and what resonates in market.
What success looks like
By day 30: You've shipped real assets in market, and you can articulate our brand's edges — what's on-brand, what's a near-miss, and why.
By day 90: You've built at least one system (a creative template, an AI-assisted production pipeline) that makes the next hundred assets faster than the first ten. You know which of your work performed and which didn't.
You're a Great Fit If…
Must-haves
- 5+ years as a marketing or brand designer with a strong B2B SaaS portfolio
- Expert-level Figma proficiency — you build organized, scalable systems
- Demonstrated, systematic use of AI in your design production. You can walk us through what you've built, reuse, and where you deliberately don't use it
- Range across disciplines — brand, campaign, web, presentation, and production, with the honesty to name your weakest area
- You understand brand nuance: the difference between bold and loud, confident and gimmicky, distinctive and chaotic
- Template-based thinking — you create assets others can adapt and reuse
- English proficiency for daily collaboration with a US-based team
- A portfolio demonstrating marketing design with personality and sophistication (applications without a portfolio won't be considered)
Nice-to-haves
- Motion design or animation
- Experience with ecommerce, Shopify, or conversion optimization tools
- Performance marketing background — you understand what makes an ad convert
- You've designed for marketing-savvy audiences before and know how to earn their attention
How we work, and who does well here
High agency. You'll get a brief and a deadline, not art direction. The best people here notice what's missing and go build it before anyone asks.
Real accountability. You'll know how your work performed — not because someone emails you a report, but because you went and got the numbers. "It looked great" is not a result.
Creative conviction. We want the risky option on the table, argued for. We also want you to let it go when the data disagrees. Move fast, iterate on feedback, don't take revisions personally.
